What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing practice that was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan. The word Reiki in Japanese can be interpreted as:
- Rei: Universal
- Ki: Life energy
Reiki is therefore bringing universal life energy to encourage balance holistically during Reiki sessions. Due to this, Reiki is non-religious, provided to people at all stages of life, alongside conventional medical treatments and is recognised by the NHS.
Many people come during times of stress, change, or emotional overwhelm. Others simply want a quiet hour to themselves.

Reiki is accessible and can be delivered in person, or distant.
- In person it can be delivered in a chair or on a treatment couch, whichever feels more comfortable to you and is accessible to your needs.
- Distant Reiki means just that, Reiki can be sent to you wherever you are in the world.
Reiki can be offered using either a “hands-on” or “hands-off” approach, but physical contact is never required, and clients remain fully clothed throughout the session in all approaches.
Reiki is a safe, supportive therapy that meets each person exactly where they are, offering space to rest, rebalance, and reconnect.
